06/07 SEASON ANNOUNCEMENT!

MASTERWORKS CHORUS UNVEILS SPECTACULAR SEASON!

PALM BEACH, FL August 23, 2006 --- Now in it's 29th year, The Masterworks Chorus of the Palm Beaches will present three performances with works by Fauré, Handel, and Rossini accompanied by a LIVE orchestra in their 2006/2007 season.

The Masterworks Chorus of the Palm Beaches will open their season on November 19, 2006 at 5:00 pm at the DeSantis Family Chapel on the campus of Palm Beach Atlantic University with a concert entitled "FRENCH CONNECTION" which will feature Gabriel Fauré's sublimely lyrical REQUIEM as it's centerpiece. Other works on the program include French art song and choral favorites such as César Franck's PANIS ANGELICUS, a portion of Camille Saint-Saëns' CHRISTMAS ORATORIO, and an excerpt from Hector Berlioz's L'ENFANCE DU CHRIST. Soloists include Ann Teeter Ryan, Soprano, Tammy Locke Ross, Soprano, Javier Bernardo, Tenor, Marty Marshall, Tenor, and Malcolm Arnold, Baritone. The overwhelmingly popular MESSIAH by George Frederic Handel follows on December 17, 2006 at 5:00 pm. This holiday favorite will be presented at The Royal Poinciana Chapel at 60 Cocoanut Row on Palm Beach. Soloists feature Yudith Diaz, Soprano, Misty Bermudez, Mezzo Soprano, Martin Shalita, Tenor, and Lloyd Reshard, Baritone. Rounding out the season is Gioacchino Rossini's STABAT MATER on April 1, 2007 at 5:00 pm presented at St. Edward's Catholic Church on Palm Beach. Although known for his operas, many consider the exciting STABAT MATER to be the finest work Rossini ever wrote. The soloists are Wendy Jones, Soprano, Ceci Grasso Dadisman, Mezzo Soprano, Javier Bernardo, Tenor, and Mark Aliapoulios, Baritone. "We are so excited to be performing these great works with wonderful soloists and a fantastic orchestra...It will be a great season!" acclaimed Dr. Jack W.
